Stitch & Dye: A Young Crafter's Guide to Fiber Arts

This class offers a hands-on introduction to the foundational techniques of weaving, knitting, crocheting, stitching, and working with natural fabric dyes. Creative Paper Play: Collage, Printmaking, and Postcards

Artistic Explorers: Building Your Sketchbook

Begin by crafting your very own sketchbook, setting the stage for a journey through diverse artistic landscapes. Each day introduces a new adventure: mastering portraiture, exploring various mark-making techniques and tools, delving into architectural drawing, and expressing thoughts through art journaling. Textile Tinkers: A Crafty Adventure

This hands-on class invites young creators to dive into the world of textiles through free play and guided projects. They'll design superhero capes to embrace their inner heroes, create charming sock puppets for storytelling, and sew simple dolls as new friends. The colorful journey continues with tie-dye wonders and painting t-shirts, blending art, imagination, and play into a tapestry of fun!

Palette Pioneers: From Homemade Paints to Sun Prints

Aug 5-9 | 10am-1pm | Ages 10-14 | Max 12 students

This colorful journey begins with creating your own watercolor paints and inks, introducing the magic behind each hue. Participants will then explore the art of making sun prints, using the power of sunlight to capture stunning images. The adventure continues with an engaging study of color theory, culminating in the art of building harmonious color palettes. It's a perfect blend of science, creativity, and fun!

Will food be served?

To accommodate participant needs, please provide your child with their own snacks. We will not have food available.

Do you offer scholarships or family discounts?

Unfortunately, we can’t at this time, but there are skill-trading opportunities to reduce the cost. Contact me to discuss further.

Do you offer accommodations for disabilities?

I am more than happy to partner with you on this. I love customizing my classes to different abilities and have experience doing this, but to ensure I can do this appropriately for you, please contact me to discuss. Note: Studio Mercia is not ADA-friendly at this time.

Is there a supply list?

Yes. Once you register, you will be invited to a Google Drive folder, where class information and photos of artwork will be kept.

Cancellation policy

We understand that plans can change, and we have developed the following cancellation policy to provide flexibility while ensuring we can prepare for a fantastic summer experience for all participants.

Deposit and Payment:

  • A non-refundable deposit of $50 is required to secure each camper's spot at the time of registration.

  • The full balance of the camp fee is due 30 days before the camp start date.

  • All payments are non-refundable after the balance due date.

Cancellation Notice:

  • Cancellations must be submitted in writing via email to studiomerciaseattle@gmail.com

  • To be eligible for a partial refund (minus the non-refundable deposit), cancellations must be received at least 45 days before the camp start date.

Refunds:

  • Cancellations received before the 45-day deadline will result in a refund of any fees paid minus the non-refundable deposit.

  • No refunds will be given for cancellations received after the 45-day deadline.

  • In cases of illness or family emergency, refunds may be considered on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the camp director. Documentation may be required.

Late Cancellations and No-Shows:

  • No refunds will be given for cancellations within 14 days of the camp start date or for no-shows.

Cancellation by Studio Mercia:

  • If the camp must cancel a session due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., extreme weather, health and safety directives), registrants will be offered a full refund or the option to transfer to another session, subject to availability.
